Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: (examples)
 
  • Responsible for all aspects of general implementation of company personnel policies and compliance with local, state and federal regulations and industry standard practices regarding human resources.
  • Ensure legal compliance by implementing and maintaining federal and state policies and procedures and maintain record retentions as required by law.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of Company policies and procedures, pay practices and employee benefits and communicate regularly with employees to promote understanding.
  • Provide guidance and training to executives, directors, department managers and supervisors for the hiring of new employees as well as the yearly review process and disciplinary action issues. 
  • Conduct interviews as well as process all pre-employment paperwork to include criminal background checks, reference checks, drug testing and ensure physicals are completed.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and coordination of timely payroll processing; track overtime, sick days, vacation, personal time off and holidays. 
  • Identify issues and make recommendations to positively impact the corporate vision and goals.
  • Facilitate and initiate training programs.
  • Process tuition reimbursement.
  • Organize company events.
  • Produce and distribute office correspondence and communications.
  • Write/edit policies and procedures.
  • Review internal controls.
  • Other projects and reports as assigned.                          
Education & Experience: (examples)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Human Resources.  Masters Degree desired.
  • A minimum of 7 years experience.
  • Knowledge of ADP (payroll/personnel system)
  • Experience in merger and acquisition.
  • Knowledge of federal and state HR laws and regulations.
  • Have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must have the ability to motivate, teach and lead others.
  • Attention to details and exceptional organizational skills are required.
  • Must be able to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Physical Requirements: (examples)
  • Approximately 80% of the time is spent sitting at a computer.  The remaining 20% of the time is spent either standing or walking.  
  • Some bending and stretching may be required to reach a phone or to get a file.
  • Lifting of 10 pounds or less may be required.
